Any news on Matterley or a date for the event?

Got a letter back from Winchester council acknowledging my letter & an invite if the application is referred to commitee but nothing else yet. Quiz Jamie on Sunday I reckon

I spoke to Jamie on Sunday and the main problem is that the council committee meeting has been postponed so it's looking unlikely that a decision will be made before the proposed LB event date at the end of July. If this is the case then the motocross the event won't run at Matterley as the club do not want to jeopardise the planning decision and any future events by running the LB meeting without the green light.

This said there is no other motocross venue at the moment so LB motocross may not happen this year. However, Jamie did say that alternative fundraiser events were on the cards that didn’t involve motocross so if this is the outcome then we should all still support the club and charity.

Don’t take this as gospel, just the feeling I got from chatting to Jamie during the interval at Foxholes.

yes lee ill b there monday bike is all done and ready 2 go cant say same 4 rider arm is ok its me ribs in a fair bit of pain but will give it a go

shame there is no motocross event this year but if there is going 2 b some kind of fundraising event lets all get involved

Statement from website home page

It is with regret that the HMX club have to announce that this years planned annual LB Motocross event will not go ahead as planned. The land owner has lodged a planning application with Winchester City Council, in the hope that the Matterley Basin circuit can once again host major motocross events, including the LB event.

Unfortunatley the date of the planning hearing is beyond the date that the club had hoped to of run the event, and so the decision has been made to put this years event off, and not to risk putting the planning application in danger.
It is hoped that the club will still run an event of sorts in its place, but it will almost certainly not involve motocross directly.
